Around the world in 4 postcards

The cool thing about Postcrossing is that not only do you get to send postcards all over, but you receive postcards from all around the world too. I received the first 4 on Friday last week and it made my day! Even better was that the one from Tanzania had a message in Dutch on the back, and as we all know, I have a bit of a thing for the Dutch language - for some reason I find it VERY amusing. :-)

Enghien - Edingen. Rue Montgomery et Maison Jonathas. (Belgium)

(Norway)

New Orleans - French quarter (USA)

Zanzibar Island (Tanzania)

The French Quarter one is one of my favourites too... I've got a whole wall in our bedroom dedicated to displaying the postcards I receive.

That is incredible! I love postcards. I should consider joining up with things like that some time! It makes me feel though I have travelled in thought--I've always had this weird idea that if someone is thinking of me somewhere, a part of me is with them because I'm on their mind. Which seems partially true. If someone is thinking of me, then a memory or hope or expectation of me is there for them in that very moment, and so if I find out about it I feel I was almost there too. Postcards give me that feeling a lot!

Beautiful postcards and locations. Would love to go all those places!

That's a great way of looking at it Kiwi!

I've been slacking a bit the past month or two with the postcrossing project, but I've started anew and love it! I also love hearing from the people who've received my postcards, it makes me feel like I've contributed a little bit to make someone's day a little bit brighter.
