My Personality Defect

You are 28% Rational, 28% Extroverted, 71% Brutal, and 42% Arrogant.

You are the Bitch-Slap, the hallmark response of any abusive husband! You are more intuitive than others, focusing more on feelings than rational explanations, and you are also probably very brutual because you care more about yourself than the well-being of others. As all nagging wives know, brutality combined with emotion often leads to BITCH-SLAPPING, which is why you are called "The Bitch Slap". Your humility probably stems from insecurity, if anything, because people fond of slapping the shit out of someone in place of rational discussion are usually not humble in the true sense of the word. Possible sources of insecurity? A small penis, a small bank account, a small intelligence...gee, when you say "small" a lot, it stops sounding like a real word! Not only that, but you are also rather introverted, and any tendencies towards brutality you possess may also result from the fact that you bottle up your emotions and don't show them to others until you explode in rage like some sort of shaken soda can. Take it from me, it is much more rewarding to bottle beer over emotions. You can't get wasted on emotions. Aside from all my talk you are probably not a VIOLENT person, just someone who is rather selfish and who makes decisions based upon emotional motives. At any rate, being a bitch-slap does not necessarily mean you will abuse your spouse; it only means you are rather intuitive, uncaring toward others, brutal, introverted, and possibly insecure.

To put it less negatively:

1. You are more INTUITIVE than rational.

2. You are more INTROVERTED than extroverted.

3. You are more BRUTAL than gentle.

4. You are more HUMBLE than arrogant.

Fa-la-la-la-la La-la-la-la!

Aaahhh, Christmas-time. That time when you get to take a well-deserved break from work, when you're able to do all the things that you never get around to doing (read: all the "fun" stuff) and also that glorious time when you get to spend some quality time with your family....

... which inevitably leads to at least one humongous fight!

Yes, that's what I've just experienced. A major blow-up. Over something really quite silly (it always is). Almost feels like the clock's been turned back a couple of years and you're a sulky teenager again. Except this time around there is definite light at the end of the tunnel in the form of time constraints putting a limit on the happy holidays with your folks.

Breathe in, breathe out.

Yes, the mother-daughter relationship is a very complex one. On the one hand she wants the best for you, on the other hand she wants that "best" to fit in with her ideas for your lifestory. After all, this is the woman who was in charge of you from the very beginning, and that mothering instinct is so ingrained, that it must be hard to come to the realisation that, for the most part, you're not really needed anymore.

But of course she is. Needed, that is. Just in a (VERY) different way. The day-to-day activities are best left in the capable hands of her daughter. But there will come those times when her advice is much needed, as, let's face it, she has a lot more experience and is very willing to share her wisdom. But, and this is a very big BUT, this advice should only be dished out when requested.

Otherwise, just smile and nod...

History Lesson

Okay, okay so I've been quite lazy in posting...

Anyway, here's a quick update on events that took place in the last 3 months:

1. My mom came to visit to help with the wedding plans. The visit started out on rough footing, but luckily progressed more smoothly and ended up really great. It was nice to have a bit of a woman's touch with the choice of flowers and table decor, because lets face facts, The Fiance's interest in these topics are somewhat limited. And I don't blame him for it. I mean, my eyes also glaze over rather soon after being dragged into Incredible Deception, so... what's good for the goose is good for the gander I suppose. Although I have to give kudo's to The Fiancee who spent no less than 3 hours (yes, 180 excrutiatingly long minutes!) wandering around in a fabric shop while me and my maternal unit shopped for material for The Dress. You might be surprised to know that there are literally millions of shades of white. Crazy.

2. All major plans for the upcoming nuptials are now officially organised. So the last 2 and a half months can be spent relaxing.... and wishing the time would pass by quickly!

3. I wrote my second board exam in November and thank heavens it's over...

4. It's just 2 and a half weeks until we go on Christmas holidays!!! The atmosphere at work is definitely no longer serious and/or productive. Even worse was when all the partners in the firm when 4x4 driving last week Thursday and us poor plebs had to stay at the office and (pretend to) work! They might need a lesson or two regarding motivating employees... but that's just my humble opinion.

Anywhoo, got some websurfing to catch up on.
Au revoir,
